The architectural jewel of Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid

The Palacio de Cibeles, formerly known as the Palace of Telecommunications, is one of Madrid’s most representative buildings. Located at the heart of Plaza de Cibeles, its striking white façade, designed by Antonio Palacios and Joaquín Otamendi, has made it a symbol of the city and the current seat of the city hall.

This model faithfully captures the grandeur of the Palacio de Cibeles, making it a perfect decorative piece for those who want to bring home a reflection of Madrid’s architectural legacy.

The first stone of the building was laid in 1907 and it would be officially inaugurated on March 14, 1919, beginning its operation as a modern postal, telegraph and telephone distribution center. After some architectural evolutions on the exterior of the building, it began to house the municipal offices of the Madrid City Council at the end of 2007, moving its offices from the Casa de la Villa and Casa de Cisneros, both located in the Plaza de la Villa. This reform of the beginning of the 21st century in the building also included a cultural area called “CentroCentro”.
